Eileen's Blog - Part 2 - Jesus Made it Clear
Jesus started his ministry by addressing a people that were trapped in a system of rules that invaded every detail of their lives, a system which left them feeling self- righteous and justified, or shamed, blamed and condemned- and sometimes a bit of both. This is exactly as we live today, whether it is by our own secular or by religious standards.
He made it absolutely crystal clear that the God he knew had no part in such a system; a system which judges only by outward appearances
He called out to the needy, the powerless, those with poor self esteem, the lost, the weary, the hungry, the depressed, sick and unhappy to tell them they are not judged, burdened by their past and trapped in such a system
He called out to those whose lives depended on superficiality, love of status, power, control and wealth and those who manipulate and take advantage of others. And he believed they all, whoever they were- people who sought to kill him even - had within themselves the capacity to live, to discover the real life of God inside them and those attitudes which reflected his personality, his nature.
Jesus called himself the Son of Man. It was his favourite self- designation- it appears 82 times in the gospels! By using "Son of Man," Jesus emphasized his connection to humanity, while leaving the identity of the "Son of God" for others to discover. That is because to teach Humankind its true value is his mission; it is also our mission. He came not just as an example FOR you but as an example OF you.
The Plan
The Good News....
is that within each individual there is a hidden treasure to discover, you are a “little Christ” and you originate in the Father as he did and does.
The Plan is that you believe what Jesus believed about humankind; that each person has the capacity to operate selflessly, endlessly generous, wise, kind, courageous, non- judgementally, passionately patiently, with resilience, as an overcomer of all difficulties.
Every person has a unique expression of the divine personality and has their own way of giving, caring and living out their lives to make the best of what they have through their unique insights and abilities. Every person has unique level resource (see Matthew 25:14-30) to invest in themselves to enable the kingdom of God to bring benefit to all.
This isbthe best Plan ever.
It’s the Real Good News!
