Pslam 37 - Fraser Leach

Introduction from Pastor Daniel Mosby

This blog was written by our beloved Fraser during the last week of his life before being promoted to glory in August 2023. Fraser was a much loved and respected Elder in the church as well as a close friend.Fraser wanted to live his life as a sign post to Jesus and I hope and pray this and his other bits of writing reveal the God of Love that Fraser loved to you.

Psalm 37 v 23:

The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble they will never fall, for the Lord upholds them by his hand. (NLT)

The Lords make firm the steps of the one who delights in him. Though he stumbles he will not fall for the Lord upholds him with his hand. (NIV)

The paths we take in life are very important. God has his hand upon us in walking those paths. He upholds us with his hand. Trouble and difficulty may come but God will never leave us and we will not fall and fail. The path ahead may be difficult at times and we can be unsure of the way but God is with us every step of the way, leading us in the path that we should go. In fact, he is the path that we should go in.

Matthew 7:13-14

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it (NIV)

In Ephesians, Paul outlines some of the characteristics of the way that we should be walking in. He says that we walk in:

  • Unity

  • Purity

  • Love

  • As children of light

  • Harmony

  • Victory

All of these things are things that he has given us as we seek to walk after him and in his way.

  • Unity- with each other.

  • Purity- of heart and mind and soul that leads to good things not trying to put one over anybody.

  • Love- with each other and with our enemies.

  • Harmony- being together with nothing between us.

  • Victory- over things that would come and defeat us.

As children of light- that we too, like little children, may see the light of God and be a light to others.
