What do you think of when you think of the Church?
The biblical definition of church is the group of people who identify as followers of Jesus. In Ephesians 5 Scripture says The Church is the bride of Christ, and in 1 Corinthians 12 the body of Christ. The Church is a collective group whom God has equipped with the Holy Spirit so they can work in partnership with the divine to restore the world to God’s original perfect creation. The Church is beautiful, powerful, compassionate, and full of grace. The Church is as close to God in human form as it is possible to be, except for Jesus, and working everyday to become more like him.

Yes you heard me right. God is NOT in control. All my life when bad things have been going on I’ve heard this well intentioned phrase, “Don’t worry God is on control, he knows what he’s doing”. A phrase intended to comfort in difficult times. It’s time the church stopped using this phrase.

The number of posts I'm seeing with “All Lives Matter” or the worse "white lives matter" slogan really saddens me. It doesn't sadden me because the people posting them are necessarily racist but because it shows a huge lack of understanding which reflects the society that we live in.

Where is God? - Daniel Mosby
Events like our current situation often cause people to evaluate their faith or lack of. Some people when times are difficult come closer to or discover God as their rock and comfort. Others get angry with God, questioning his motives or existence as from their perspective he is suddenly absent from the world.
I want to spend some time exploring some of these deep personal and theological questions. These are my own opinions that have come from my own reflections on Scripture, time spent with the spirit and conversations with others.
